We're back in Wendover, one of our all time favourite places to run.

This event forms part of the Chilterns Walking Festival which runs throughout May – This will be the fastest 'walk' of the programme!

We will complete a hilly 10 mile route which features some of the best local viewpoints and countryside.

There will be two pace options available:

Option 1
This group will be aiming to complete the run in 2h15. We will be running at 6:45-7:00m/km with a few stops along the route.

Option 2
This is a slightly faster group, aiming to finish within 2 hours. The average pace will be around 6:30min/km.

The route is exactly 16km and start and finishes at Wendover Station.

The route has a number of climbs to conquer, including Combe and Whiteleaf Hill.

As mentioned above we will be splitting into two separate pace groups.

These runs are aimed at people newer to trail running but anyone is welcome.

Please note: This itinerary assumes you are travelling via train from central London however we welcome runners from anywhere!

Meeting points

Marylebone

If you're travelling from London Marylebone, meet us outside WHSmith at 09:40-45.

Route start

Meet us outside the main entrance of Wendover Train Station.

Please meet the Runaway team at the meeting point 15-20mins prior to departure.

There is plenty of parking available at Wendover station.

There is also some of free on street parking in the surrounding area.

After the run please join us for a drink or lunch at The Shoulder of Mutton.

If we can reserve an area we will, however we don’t formally book a table as this often requires a deposit/exact numbers. If the chosen pub/cafe is full or busy we will try somewhere else.

Trail running shoes

Wear appropriate shoes for uneven terrain & muddy conditions!

Water

Carry at least 500ml of water with you.

Phone

You're unlikely to forget this but please remember to fully charge it.

Snacks

Bring an energy gel, bar or some sugar to help refuel during the run.

Running pack or bag

You'll need something like this to carry everything in.

Hat

A sun hat for warm weather or a warm hat for cold weather.

Gloves

In cold or wet conditions please bring gloves.

Cash

Carry a small amount of cash, you never know when it will be useful.
