This trail run forms part of the Greensand Country Festival.

We're back in Biggleswade for our annual trail run on the local trails.

This is a really nice 10 mile run that includes a loop around The Lodge Nature Reserve.

We'll be running at our medium pace (see below), aiming to cover the distance in around 1h50.

Our route takes us north of Biggleswade and through some lush green fields and flat trails.

Approaching half way we enter the forest and tackle the slightly hillier sections within the nature reserve before making our way back into town along the local streams.

Total distance is 16.4km with 173m of elevation change.

Please note: This itinerary assumes you are travelling via train from central London however we welcome runners from anywhere!

Meeting points

St Pancras

For those meeting within St Pancras meet us outside Starbucks at 09:25.

Route start

Please meet us outside the main entrance to Biggleswade station at 10:30.

Train also calls at - Finsbury Park

Please meet the Runaway team at the meeting point 15-20mins prior to departure.

There is paid parking available at Biggleswade station. You will also find free parking in residential areas around the station.

We will head to Jones Cafe for some post run food and refreshments.

If we can reserve an area we will, however we don’t formally book a table as this often requires a deposit/exact numbers. If the chosen pub/cafe is full or busy we will try somewhere else.

Wear appropriate shoes for uneven terrain & muddy conditions!

Water

Carry at least 500ml of water with you.

Phone

You're unlikely to forget this but please remember to fully charge it.

Snacks

Bring an energy gel, bar or some sugar to help refuel during the run.

Running pack or bag

You'll need something like this to carry everything in.

Hat

A sun hat for warm weather or a warm hat for cold weather.

Gloves

In cold or wet conditions please bring gloves.

Cash

Carry a small amount of cash, you never know when it will be useful.
