This is a 17km group trail run from Hurst Green to Hever.
Hurst Green is a casual 32 minute journey from London Bridge and sits on the Kent/Sussex border.
Our run takes us initially over to the Chartwell Estate (Churchills old stomping ground) and then south towards Edenbridge and along to the picturesque village of Hever.

The route predominately follows two trails:
The Vanguard Way - A 66 mile North to South route that starts in Croydon and ends all the way down in Brighton!
Eden Valley - A beautiful 15 mile trail that connects the Vanguard Way with Tonbridge.
The route is 17km from Hurst Green to the Henry VIII pub in Hever, however if you are not coming to the pub then you can drop out at around 16km when we pass close to the station.
Note that there is a dropout point in Edenbridge (with access back to London) at around 12km.

Please note: This itinerary assumes you are travelling via train from central London however we welcome runners from anywhere!

Please meet the Runaway team at 09:55 outside the main ticket office on the lower level of London Bridge station.
Please meet us outside the main entrance/exit at Hever Station.

Driving & parking
There is parking available at Hurst Green train station, the post code is RH8 0JL.
To get back to your car take the train 2 stops from Hever - journey time is around 11 minutes.
Post run refreshments
The run will finish at the King Henry VIII pub for some post run refreshments.
It's a 15 minutes walk back to Hever station from here.
If we can reserve an area we will, however we don’t formally book a table as this often requires a deposit/exact numbers. If the chosen pub/cafe is full or busy we will try somewhere else.
What to bring
Trail running shoes
Wear appropriate shoes for uneven terrain & muddy conditions!
Carry at least 500ml of water with you.
You're unlikely to forget this but please remember to fully charge it.
Bring an energy gel, bar or some sugar to help refuel during the run.
Running pack or bag
You'll need something like this to carry everything in.
A sun hat for warm weather or a warm hat for cold weather.
In cold or wet conditions please bring gloves.
Carry a small amount of cash, you never know when it will be useful.
